Education Tours

Adelaide Gaol is a unique and engaging learning environment that provides a fascinating opportunity for guests of all ages and abilities to be transported back in time to South Australia’s historic early settlement. Available 7 days a week, guests have the opportunity to discover one of Adelaide’s second oldest remaining colonial public buildings and experience what life was like for those who once lived there.

Adelaide Gaol delivers education tours that specifically align to the Australian Curriculum and SACE. The standard 60 minute guided education tour explores topics surrounding general South Australian history, women in Gaol and restorative justice. Tailored tours for social and community groups are available at no additional cost.

As part of the education tour, groups are guided through the Gaol by our experienced education officer or alternatively, you can book a self-guided tour to explore the Gaol’s hidden secrets at your own pace. Teaching resources for self-guided tours are available upon request.

To book a guided education tour or for more detailed information please submit our online enquiry form, and our education officer will contact you as soon as possible.
