Hassle in Ashton’s Castle

Governor Ashton needs your help to solve the case of the vanishing pies. Explore Adelaide Gaol to find the missing meals and see if you can solve the riddles to discover the identity of the mischievous suspect!

Was it a prisoner? Was it a gardener? Was it a guard? We need your help to solve this mystery!

The Hassle in Ashton’s Castle activity is included with entry fees and commences Saturday 11th December through to Sunday 30th January

Do I need to book?

Bookings are not required. We are open every day between 10am – 4pm (last entry 3pm).

Is there a cost?

The activity is free with entry.

What session times are available?

The activity is self-guided, allowing children to participate at any time between 10am – 4pm.

How long does the activity take?

We recommend allowing approximately 1 hour for the activity, however there is so much to see at Adelaide Gaol you could easily spend an additional 1 – 2 hours exploring afterwards.

What age is the activity recommended for?

The activity is suitable for primary school aged children.

Is the activity indoors?

The activity trail will take you through both indoor and outdoors areas. We recommend bringing a hat and sunscreen on warmer days.

Are food and drinks available:

A range of snack and drink options are available, including toasted sandwiches and freshly made coffee. Outdoor seating is also available and you are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy.
