Step back into South Australia’s past with History Day at Adelaide Gaol, where stories, people, and places come together under this year’s theme: Connections. 

Not only will you enjoy tickets at yesteryear prices, but there's an immersive program designed to bring the Gaol’s rich and sometimes haunting history to life. Explore exclusive exhibits and themed displays, learn about the lives that once intersected within these walls, and gain rare access to areas not normally open to the public.

Sausage sizzle and Mugshot Canteen

Enjoy delicious lunch, beverage and snack offerings from the Gaol's Mugshot Canteen, or grab a piping hot snag at the sausage sizzle.

Getting there

Parking
Please note that onsite parking will be limited due to the construction of the new Women’s and Children’s Hospital near the Gaol. Limited disability permit parking will be available onsite.

We strongly recommend using public transport to visit the Gaol. If parking is required, visit Visitor Information for details on nearby parking options.

Public Transport
The nearest tram stop is Thebarton, located adjacent to George Street, Thebarton. From there, you can enjoy a short walk through Bonython Park to reach the Gaol.
